چکیده

A complex thermodynamic–microphysical package has been formulated that is able to deal with the microphysical processes of condensed water vapour in a volcanic plume. The microphysics follows a prognostic bulk approach for cloud water, cloud ice, rain and graupel and the interaction between them. In a standard experiment, this module, applied within a Ž . new nonhydrostatic volcano plume model, Active Tracer High Resolution Atmospheric Model ATHAM , produces reasonable concentrations of different types of hydrometeors. Under tropical conditions, the plume gains three times as much water from the environment through entrainment as from the volcanic source. The formed hydrometeors are dominated by the ice phase. Thermodynamic effects of phase changes contribute about 13% to the plume’s total thermal energy and therefore have a considerable effect on the vertical development of the plume. q 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. The impact of drought stress at different stages of development on water relations, stomatal density and quality changes of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.)

ABSTRACT- To investigate the effect of draught stress on water relations, stomatal density, chlorophyll content and yield of rapeseed, an experiment was done with four levels of drought stress including L1 (Field Capacity, FC), L2 (70% Available Water Content, AWC), L3 (50% AWC), and L4 (30% AWC), within three growth stages- including stem elongation (T1), onset of flowering (T2) and silique fo...

The effect of Urban Development on Watershed Hydrological Properties (case study: Tajrish Watershed)

The effect of Urban Development on Watershed Hydrological Properties (case study: Tajrish Watershed) Throughout the human history, societies and rivers have been closely linked, so that the human civilization began from the riverside (Stevaux et al. 2009 (. The quantitative and qualitative characteristic of river is vulnerable to land-use changes (Kang et al. 2010). Natural and urban watershed...

The Difficulty of Measuring the Absorption of Scattered Sunlight by H2O and CO2 in Volcanic Plumes: A Comment on Pering et al. "A Novel and Inexpensive Method for Measuring Volcanic Plume Water Fluxes at High Temporal Resolution, " Remote Sens. 2017, 9, 146

In their recent study, Pering et al. (2017) presented a novel method for measuring volcanic water vapor fluxes. Their method is based on imaging volcanic gas and aerosol plumes using a camera sensitive to the near-infrared (NIR) absorption of water vapor. The imaging data are empirically calibrated by comparison with in situ water measurements made within the plumes. Though the presented method...

The Effect of Time on the Formation & Growth of Passive Layer on Carbon Steel A516 Gr. 70 in Sour Water

A proposed method for protecting carbon steel and hence reducing iron release in an aqueous solution saturated with H2S is presented in this paper. The method is based on forming a stable and resistant sulfide layer (pyrite, FeS2, or pyrrhotite, Fe(1-x)S, phase or a mixture of both) on the carbon steel surface. The study on the formation of the sulfide layer was...

The Effect of Osmotic Dehydration on Reverse Osmosis Membrane Performance

Akin type (asymmetric) reverse osmosis membranes undergo an irreversible osmotic dehydration upon coming into contact (skin side) with salt solutions. The extent of consequent changes (in appearance; decrease in linear dimension, water flux and salt rejection) are dependent on the salt concentration. These observations are correlated with the expected morphological changes taking place duri...
